Other Updates in the Support Sector This Month
Following our participation in the Association of Charitable Organisation grant makers forum, many are interested in using The Charity Shop Gift Card as part of their offering once there is a national redemption network. We have particular interest from the National Benevolent Charity and Longleigh Foundation. We are in the process of setting up a pilot with Longleigh in one of the many areas across the UK where they work with housing associations and look forward to building on this partnership.
Our presentation at the Kent Housing Board meeting was well received with interest from Kent County Council, a national housing provider and the Corporate Parent who work with care leavers in Kent and are interested in the possibility of using the card for care leavers grants.
Norfolk County Council continue to be incredibly supportive of the scheme with approval from their Hardship Board and we are working together to maximise the redemption network across the council.
We recently met with Birmingham City Council to identify areas that may be interested in using the charity gift card as part of their support of local residents. This ranges from Climate Change to Newly Arrived members of the community and the Children’s Trust to Revenues and Benefits.
